Welcome to the CCWA Model UN !

65th Annual CCWA
Model United Nations 2008-2009
for Northeast Ohio Students

Conference Theme:
Our World in Transition, Our World in Crisis

This year's theme explores the nature of change in the world today.  From developing countries to industrialized nations, every facet of society is in a perpetual state of flux creating new challenges, tensions, and potential conflicts.  Leaders are faced with making decisions about problems within their nations and regions of the world that affect us all as global citizens.  Will their decisions lead to peaceful resolutions and transitions or will they cause more conflicts and crises?  MUN delegates will investigate some of the current issues at stake, such as rights for refugees, crisis relief, the global food crisis, and terrorism prevention.

The Cleveland Council on World Affairs is proud to announce the 65th annual Model UN. We welcome students from schools in the northeast Ohio region and beyond for our premier conferences that foster awareness about international diplomacy and the work of the United Nations.  CCWA is committed to ensuring a quality experience for novice and experienced MUN delegates. The experience is further enhanced by the diversity of schools and delegates participating. Our MUN serves 1100+ students annually from 50 schools in northern Ohio and beyond.
